Most Famous Landmark in Brussels- Peeing Boy Fountain?

So the last stop on our 10 day tour was Brussels. I have to admit I was a little unsure about Brussels before we arrived, but it was an AWSOME city! We arrived on Friday night and went to our hostel, which was a huge let down after St. Christopher’s in Amsterdam. However, it was a room with beds to sleep, so it served its purpose. After we looked up all our bags, we went to find the rest of our group; they were at a bar downtown called Delirium. The bar had 200 different types of beers in flavors ranging from wheat to cherry and banana (my two favorites). We meet them then I went to dinner with another girl because we hadn’t eaten yet and it was about 10pm at night. I discovered the coolest part of Brussels when I went in search of dinner. We walked down street after street and there was café after café of great food that were still packed with people even at 10pm! So we choose a restaurant close to the bar and I got wonderful pasta, which was a close rival to the pasta from Italy (it was so good)! Then we returned to the bar where we ran into other Tech kids who were studying abroad- it is such a small world! We eventually made our way back to our hostel for the night!

Then on Saturday we woke up and went to a flee market, which was interesting- I am pretty sure you could buy anything there (I even saw Pokémon cards). After that we got Belgium waffles, which are different from Belgium waffles in the U.S. because they are crispier. I still think I like my mom’s waffles on Saturday morning more than the real Belgium waffles! So after that some of the people went on a bus tour of the city, but I decided I had seen enough buildings and churches for one trip so I just walk around the city with Will and Amy. We had a nice day! We went to see the famous peeing boy statue and went in many Belgium chocolate shops (did you know Godiva is from Brussels) and basically just ate the rest of the day. Amy got McDonalds so we could use the bathroom, and I got these amazing fries (yet again famous in Brussels) with curry ketchup. The day was nice because we basically walked from place to place and would sit and enjoy each place a little bit, which was very different from the marathons we walked in Amsterdam and Paris! That night we meet up with the rest of the people with us and went out for our last dinner! I got mussels and fires for dinner- it was great! Finally we ended the night at a crepe store where we bought crepes. We went to bed early because we had to get up at 530 to catch our train back to Riva. We traveled for 13 hours on Sunday to get back, but time went by pretty fast as I mostly caught up on sleep. Now we have started our next module of classes- finance- where we have class 8 hours a day! It is demanding but I continue to be excited for the weekends when I can travel!!!
