Cousin Mark was our guide today through South Bend and the surrounding areas. The Notre Dame football team was away so we had the campus almost to ourselves. It was a beautiful sun filled day and the sparkling golden dome of the main building competed with the yellows and gold’s of the trees below. We drove past a long shuttered building with a Studebaker sign in the window and Mark pointed out the brick foundry and smokestack, all that’s left of the Oliver Chilled Plow Works. Best of all was connecting with family.
