Friday, September 25, 2009 we drove through the corn and soybean fields of Illinois into Indiana today, longest drive of the trip so far…….

Saturday, September 26, 2009

Cousin Mark was our guide today through South Bend and the surrounding areas. The Notre Dame football team was away so we had the campus almost to ourselves. It was a beautiful sun filled day and the sparkling golden dome of the main building competed with the yellows and gold’s of the trees below. We drove past a long shuttered building with a Studebaker sign in the window and Mark pointed out the brick foundry and smokestack, all that’s left of the Oliver Chilled Plow Works. Best of all was connecting with family.
