Case on the Lake Michigan beach

After our visit to the Henry Ford museum we headed west across southern Michigan, then dropped down into Indiana. We stayed at a nice state campground with lots of trails through the old sand dunes.

In the morning I took the kids for a hike, on what I anticipated to be an easy trail to the beach and Lake Michigan. It turns out the dune we had to go up and over was higher than expected. The trail had wooden steps up and over the dune, and there were 212 of them each way! Case did fine, but my buns were burning, especially since I was carrying Reed in his pouch. We enjoyed a walk along the shore and were surprised the water was quite mild.
