Vincent Family Balkan Adventure 2009 travel blog

Joe spent Tuesday evening packing his "Croatian Wine." Since we all got a bottle we have 3 to bring home and we can't carry them on the plane. I just hope that they make it safely. The last time we tried to bring wine home from Albania it ended up all over Sara's freshly washed clothes!!! Wednesday morning we continued our packing and straightening up of the apartment. Joe and Sara have decided that our luggage is much lighter now, for some reason. I think it's because we have all lost weight while walking everywhere!!! Not really. About noon we trotted off to the BBI Center again to spend the afternoon shopping and working on our Travel Blog. That is I SPENT THE AFTERNOON WORKING ON THE TRAVEL BLOG!!! If Joe takes credit for this when we get back home I'm going to strangle him. He has talked about how wonderful it is to everyone, but he hasn't typed a word. He tells everyone that I type faster!!! HA HA... One of our former exchange students that lived with Michell Kieffer, Adnan, and his girlfriend are taking us to dinner to night. We are very excited about seeing and visiting with him. Today when I spoke with him on Facebook he told me he had made the reservations and everything was set. The only problem is we don't go to dinner until 9:00 tonight!!! I should be in bed by then because the taxi driver is picking us up for the airport at 5:00 in the morning. Oh well, we'll enjoy the evening with Adnan and his girlfriend and sleep on the plane!!! The only problem with sleeping on the plane is that it will be daylight all the way home. Hopefully, they will shut the shades and it will be dark in the airplane cabin. Sara says that she'll watch movies. Joe and I have our Kindle's and we've read lots of books while we have been here. With only about 2 or 3 channels that are English, you get tired of watching the same thing over and over... It has been a wonderful experience to visit Croatia (again, for me) and Bosnia for all of us. I know that many of you have wondered and worried about our trip but this is a beautiful part of Europe and the people have been magnificent. To my school kids, please take time to learn more about the people and culture of Croatia, Bosnia and the rest of the Balkans. I'll be excited to see all of you when I return. If anyone wants us to make a presentation to a group, please let us know so that we can put you on our list. When we get home we'll have about a month to prepare for Neva and John Paul's next wedding!!! This one is at the Memphis Zoo!!!! Nothing like saying, "I DO" in front of the polar bears!!! We are so proud of them both and can't wait to show Neva's family around Jonesboro and Memphis. Sara has promised Zvonimir, Neva's brother, a visit to Graceland. We'll guys the vacation is over and so is the Travel Log. Until we see you in person, "Hvala!" (That's good-bye in Bosnian.) P.S. We might post a few pictures from tonight and our flight home...
