Monday, September 21, 2009 Today, Joe was raring to go. Nothing doing but get ready and go back to the city. However, when we arrived we found out that Monday was a holiday, as well. Sara did some shopping at the copper shops for friends. Shortly after we got to Old Town, Sara was ready for lunch. Once again we tried cevapcici, Mustafa and Mario said that Sarajevo’s was better than Mostar!!! Mario suggested that we eat at Zeljo’s. We really didn’t find that there was much difference, but to the untrained palate what do we know. After walking through Old Town, we ended up at the BBI Center. This is a new large shopping center with 7 floors. The first two are below ground level and are called -1 and -2. The first floor is zero, which has caused us some problems since we are accustomed to the first floor being 1!!! We went to the bookstore and purchased a few books, sat in the Café del Mar and used their internet. Of course, Joe about 3 or 4 cups of Bosnian coffee (the cups are small, but the caffeine is probably about 3 times stronger.

We walked past the new "Murdered Children's Monument." It's quite beautiful. On the inside of the fountain there are children's footprints. Such a stunning exhibit, but it breaks my heart to think of the children that died needlessly.

Joe thought that we could walk to our apartment, but Sara quickly put an end to that.

We returned to our neighborhood and ate at a restaurant that Joe and I visited our first night. The food there is very good and the service is wonderful. On to the apartment for some rest and reading. Until tomorrow…
