Castle Lookout

"They say I'm lazy but it takes all my time....".

It was a relatively lazy weekend for us. Friday we did yet another great road ride on the Bow Valley Parkway and Saturday we decided to get in some volunteer hours in the park. We did the short hike into Silverton Falls off of the Rockbound Lake trail. After doing some water testing in the creek and looking but not finding any Boreal Toads, we headed to the Castle Lookout trail head and hiked to the top of the trail. It was a bit hazy that day because of the fires in BC but there were still some nice views of the Bow Valley and the sheer cliffs of Castle Mountain. No toads on that trail either but we were entertained by Clark's Nutcrackers breaking open pine cones. We finished off with dinner with a view from the patio of the Juniper Hotel. Sometimes lazy is the way to go!
