OK, so I arrived in Vienna a little before 6 this morning. Got a taxi to the hotel, and dropped off the luggage, then went for coffee and a wander around the city.
Also got to the ticket office at the Spanish Riding School well before opening time, and I have tickets for the morning exercise and tour of the facility for tomorrow. There is no full performance of the Lippazaners until the weekend, by which time I will be at home, so this will have to do. At least we get to visit the stables on the tour. Debbie, you will just have to come up and see the show, let me know how great it is! They do have DVDs, so will pick them up tomorrow.
The batteries in the phone and the camera died this morning as I was wandering, so charging everything up now. Have also sat down with the map and figured out what I want to see here, I have all of tomorrow (except for about 3 and a half hours at the Riding School), and Thursday morning as well if I want, my flight isn't until the late afternoon, so I need to check in by around 2.30pm. They have a train here that goes to the airport from the central city in about 16 minutes, and you can check in for your flight before you get on the train.
Going to have another early night tonight, then go out fairly early tomorrow to get some sightseeing in before I get to see the ponies. Might be able to fit one or two things in, if I don't sleep in. There is an excellent public transport network here, and everywhere I want to go is within one or two metro stops of one another.
Then I will be repacking all my stuff one final time to come home, will be back again before I know it. The time has gone really fast, and just looking back over this diary, it surprises me how much I have covered in just a couple of weeks... again!
