Santiago on the other hand was not that great. The Andes in the background were quite spectacular, but the city itself was just ok (although the food and the wine were excellent – in particular the Casablanca Sauvignon Blanc, mmmmm). Everything was shut as I arrived during the Chilean independence day, and that did not help in improving my excitement about Santiago. I took the red (hop on/hop off) bus to visit the most important attractions in the city and that is all I did really.
I am now in Peru, the last country I am going to visit in this round the world tour. So far I have really enjoyed Peru, even if yesterday I was involved in a fairly big car crash, and I am lucky to be alive with no injuries (see picture). I'll tell you all about it when I update the blog again.
