The rest of the train ride to Picton was extremely nice. We saw loads of seals and wildlife on the east coast, and that made it a particularly enjoyable ride.

The ferry from Picton to Wellignton was not bad either.

There were dolphins in the water, and never-ending fjords. It makes you wonder how difficult it is to sail and avoid hitting rock when the sea is rough, as there were so many narrow passages.

I spent the night in Wellington: it was not very exciting and I did not really see much. I also stayed in the worst accommodation yet: downtown backpackers! I felt it was a rip-off for the type of accommodation. Only good thing being its position, right opposite the train station, which was waiting for me at 7.00 am for the ride back to Auckland!

The following day would have been far more spectacular if the weather was nice. It was rainy and cloudy all the way to Auckland, and that prevented us from seeing anything worth writing home about. Don't take me wrong, the small and green hills were very cute and nice, and remind me of Wales, fantasy worlds and Splash Mountain in Disneyland, but that was about it. Shame about the weather, as we could not see the volcanoes!

The rain spoilt the weekend in Auckland, I did not really see much. Just some shopping! I was getting ready to visit a couple of islands.
