Lidia, such a poser !

Turnovo from the fortress

Lunchtime - what's on the menu !?

Walked through the main street of town which changes its name six times in less than a mile as it winds up, down, and around the curves of the city that hugs a shear steep river ridgeline that does numerous hairpin curves. Got to the ancient pennisular hilltop fortress that dates back to 2000 B.C. Impressive physical site.

Decided not to visit Bucharest, Romania as we've not heard too much good said about it. Instead we go by train from Turnovo connecting thru Bucharest on to Brasov, Romania.

It's in the 'heartland' of Transylvania (pardon the pun). We're thinking to stay put for a week or so, and really see/feel the area. Supposed to be lots of hiking and short day trips available from there. Will be good not to change hotels/cities every couple days.

Bulgaria has been an interesting country of contrast and contradictions; well worth seeing. I'd return someday, revisit some sites, and visit others we did not have the time to see on this trip.

Ciao for now
