Petey

This cruise was a spur of the moment thing. I caught up with an old high school buddy who is living in the mountains of North Carolina. He informed me of the cruise he and his wife were going on that departed out of Mobile. Well, here we go, you know, all we need is an excuse to go.

We actually got the last room available on the ship. It was an interior room but, we didn't mind. We booked a dive for Cozumel. Sauncee and I have never dived there and were really looking forward to it.

We boarded the ship around 2:00pm and found my long lost buddy. The ship was to depart around 4:00pm. We got settled in the room, got something to eat and went through the safety class that is required on all cruises.

We soon find out the ship has some mechanical problems and is being worked on. Long story short, we do not depart until around 10:00pm and the propulsion system isn't working properly. Our destination is changed to Progreso instead of Cozumel and there is no diving excursions at Progreso.

It turned out to be a pretty good place to stop. Progreso is not too commercialized yet and it was fun shopping and walking the streets. We got a full body massage on the beach for $15 dollars each and I got a fantastic deal on a shirt. This shirt is made from cactus fiber and is guaranteed by Pedro for fifty years. If anything goes wrong with the shirt, all I have to do is go to Mexico and find Pedro to have it replaced. What a deal!! Sauncee bought at least 250 pair of earrings. No, not really, but she did get a lot of them.

Once back on the ship, we decided to have the hot rock massage. It was really good but cost a lot more than the beach massage.

The cruise was a short three day cruise but it was fun and we got to catch up with one of my best friends from High School.
