The temperature went from being almost too warm last night to where we thought about turning on the air conditioner to needing the heater this morning! Don’t like the weather in Wisconsin? Just wait a few minutes – it will change!
We slept late this morning. There was very little activity in the campground today until well past 8:00 am. Around 9:30 am we took a walk around the A, B, and C loops. Most people were busy packing up for the migration home. A lot of kids were getting yelled at by their parents to help. A few kids were crying that they did not want to go home. We saw blood on the knee of one little girl, and blood on the elbow of another little boy. They may have crashed together on their bicycles and hit the pavement. It was very obvious that everyone was tired after the long weekend of fun. In the campsite across the road from us we heard: “We have to go home because Mom is tired”. She must have been because we watched her get in the truck and back the truck and attached camper trailer into the side of the fishing boat! No damage done other than a little bruised pride. The grand RV migration of rigs from the campground was between 10 am and noon. A couple stragglers after noon and the entire campground was empty and quiet. The ranger visited and told us that he had not seen the campground clear out that fast all summer.
The afternoon was spent just relaxing. Cheryl looked at, organized, and categorized a good number of photos while sitting in a lawn chair under the awning. We just enjoyed the quiet campground and beautiful weather. A great way to end a fantastic trip.
We decided not to move to another site with water hookups. We had plenty of water in the storage tanks to last thru to morning. Tomorrow we will pack up for the last time on this trip and travel the 250 miles home. Two sure signs that vacation is over: 1) The ketchup and mustard bottles are empty. 2) We are tired.
