Day 38 continued
When we got into Spain i was very excited and i was hoping it would be like i expected it to be like. On the way we had a few stops to get petrol and to have lunch and just to stretch our legs. We saw lots of wind farms and dad was very excited. We also saw big bulls made out of metal on top oh hills. In the end we found our selves in a place called Aranjuez and it was sooooooo hot it was 46 degrees Celsius. We went out looking for somewhere to have dinner, luckily we did find somewhere to eat. We also managed to get back to bed before it got too late.
Day 39
My first impression wasn't so good because it was just so dull at Aranjuez but it was only a stop because it was such a big drive. We had to put our bags back in the car and then we were on the road again. Poor dad all the driving. We knew we were going to Seville. When we got to Seville dad and I had to go to an Internet cafe to find accomadation. We ended up finding a hotel called Hotel Don Paco. It took us 40 minutes at least to find it even though we got close to it many times. When we went in we thought we had done really well finding the hotel. We went for a swim when we got there then we went out to find a restaurant. When we had a a meal we had a look at the Cathedral. We walked back to the hotel and went to bed and i thought to my self this is so much better and this is just how i hoped Spain to be like.
Day 40
Since the night before was late we woke up very late. When we woke up we figured out what we were going to do for the day. We decided we would go in the the Cathedral. Mum, dad and i walked to the Cathedral then we paid to go in. It was massive it was one of the biggest buildings I've ever been in, in fact it is the biggest Cathedral in the world. Dad and I went up to the top of the cathedral but mum didn't because she is scared of heights. When we got down we had a look at the treasure at the cathedral. The treasure was all gold with rubies, diamonds, emeralds and sapphires (pictured). When we came out of the cathedral we walked back to the hotel and went into the pool. We also got a different high up view of the city because the pool was on top of the hotel. We decided that we should go out and look for a restaurant so dad looked in the guide book to see where some nice places are. We ended up in one of the four restaurants next to the river where lots of people seem to be sitting. After our meal we started walking back across the river where we could catch a taxi. Many taxis where in the square so we got into one and we went back to the hotel. Mum and dad went to bed bed but mum and dad let me watch the last 30 minutes of a football game then i had to go to bed.
Day 41
When we woke up we had to pack our bags because we were leaving Seville (Sevilla) to go to Saint Maria. I had a quick swim in the pool then I went down to meet mum and dad in the room so we could go across the road for breakfast. When we finished our breakfast we went back to our room and placed our things in the car. Once we got on the Motorway we were well on our way. We had some trouble finding our hotel. First of all we went to tourist info but they were closed so we went in the direction we thought was right then we asked some locals and they sent us in the right direction so we eventually got there. Once we had got everythings in our room we had a sleep before going out. Mum and dad were reading when i woke up so i got them out of bed so we could go into town. In the town there was a fair which had markets, rides and games. We all had a go at a few things then we went and had some dinner at a restaurant. We stayed until the end of the football game which was on the TV then we went back to the hotell to bed.
Day 42
Today we were going to Cadiz, you can drive over but it's easier to go on the ferry. We arrived at the dock just in time to get on the boat. There was many waves which was making the boat rock about but i really liked it. The boat was great, when we got off we had to find our way to tourist info. They gave us a map to get to the beach. Dad was very excited again and was hoping there was waves to surf. When we got there well we were a little disapointed. We still went for a swim and threw the ball. There was some big waves but not ones that a very surfable. We idn't stay very long so we went back to the port and we only just made it onto the boat. The ferry ride was boring on the way back because there was no waves. From the port we walked back to the hotel then we changed our cloths and got ready to out to dinner again. We looked a few menus and let's just say some of the menus made us sick. We ended up having italian and we couldn't believe our selves because we were having Italian in Spain but it was the safest thing to eat. We thanked the waitor and the chef for the meal then we went to the hotel. When we got back into the hotel they had already made our beds so all that was left was to go to sleep.
Day 43
Today we were leaving to go to Morocco. We had to pack our bags again and head to the port. When we left the hotel we didn’t think we were going to make it but luckily there was hardly anyone on the boat so they waited for the cars to come. We were actually one of the first cars that went on the boat. We left from Gibraltar in Spain which is a piece of land that the English own. We saw the huge rock of Gibraltar as we left the port. I stayed inside for a while until dad said I should go outside to look for wildlife because mum saw two turtles and dolphins. I went outside and saw nothing but it was better than being inside. When we got to the other side it was still part of Spain.
We had a swim because it was so hot and then we took off to morocco it was only five or ten minutes before we got there. We got to border security and it was so, so, so, so, so, so, so unorganised. There would have been 120 car horns per minute it was ridiculously loud. We had to keep on getting in and out of the car for different reasons. People were giving us scam copies of forms to fill out luckily dad knew how to tell whether they were scams or not. One time I got split up with mum and dad because they had to do something with the police officer. Mum was waiting to cross the road but she couldn’t because the cars were so close together. Mum and dad both got over the road and back into the car and just when we thought we were away another police officer had to check our passports (for the 3rd time). Then we were well and truly through the security.
