Monday, August 31 – Sunday, September 6, 2009

On Monday we stopped at Chimney Rock and Scott’s Bluff in Western Nebraska.

Tuesday and Wednesday were spent visiting mom’s relatives in Fairbury, Nebraska, Howard and Dorothy Boeckner. They took us to the Megli Cemetery and their farm. Wednesday we drove on to Hesston, KS. Mom took us on a tour of Hesston College and we camped at Cottonwood Campground.

On Thursday Aunt Jane, Uncle Steve and Grandma and Grandpa Kaufman came up for lunch. After lunch Aunt Jeana brought Angelica and Leonard over and we took them to the park to play. We had so much fun!

That evening we celebrated Aunt Jeana’s birthday party.

Friday, we left and packed up in the pouring rain! We stopped in Kansas City and met Gerald and Jessie at Applebee’s for a yummy lunch.

On Saturday we stopped in New Salem, IL and went to the New Salem Village, with re-enactors portraying life in the mid 1800’s.

We decided to drive home that night and got to our place at about 2:00am on Sunday morning. We’ve had a great 32 days on this western adventure!
