DAY 14 - Surfing Sep 4, 2009

After a filling breakfast at home, we headed to the Barcelo to rent surf boards. At first my fear of ocean waves kept me glued to the boogie board. But once I realized that more water was being splashed in my face on the boogie board than would probably occur if I were standing on a board I decided to try surfing. I definitely took my share of digs, but I also caught a handful of waves. Surfing is so much fun! I can see how people visit Tamarino to surf and end up staying here forever.

We were starving after a tough battle with the ocean and had a late lunch at Taco Stop. On our way home we saw a group of very active howler monkeys, including a baby monkey hanging from its tail! A low key afternoon allowed us to recover from the morning surfing. We made pasta at home for dinner, watched the sunset, and called it another early night.
