Old Danish Farmhouse outside Haslev

Had a well deserved long sleep at my brother's home in Glamsbjerg. Today I left early to drive to Copenhagen to go to a government office about my Danish pension! Crosing one of the longest bridges in the World - "Storebæltsbroen" is 29 Km long and an engineering marvel. Had my meeting in Copenhagen and the drove as fast as could out of the Capital to get to Haslev for my lunch date with Vera's aunt, "Moster Else". She is now 91 years old and is a favourite of ours. She had invite her son, Ole and his wife, Karin, to join us for lunch. They are both retired now and both look great. The lunch contained the many items that must be on any Danish luncheon table; picled herring, liver pate, frikadeller, rullepølse and much more. Of course we had beer and Danish "Akvavit". I took my leave early and rushed back to Copenhagen to collect brochures from hotels and other informaton needed to assist my clients travelling to Denmark. I met my friend, Bent P., we apprenticed together many years ago in Løgstør. He had invited me to stay at his home over-night. He lives on Amager close to the Copenhagen airport. I treated him to dinner at a Chinese restaurant where we had the buffet. There were at least 30 different items and the food was as good as any you would find in Vancouver. At one point one of the legs on my chair buckled under and I landed on the floor!!!! Several people came running to help me up, but I was OK, later I did discovered a very large red/blu bruise on my upper arm!! After we returned to Bent P.'s flat we spent time talking about our past in Løgstør ans each of us bragging and showing photos of our children and grand-children - then we went to bed.
