Last weekend, Sjoerd another trainee from Stork working in Atlanta came over to see Fairhope. Saturday the weather was great and we went to the beach with Brad and his family, we went out in the boat and saw loads of dolphins and enjoyed the sun! In the evening we went on an Airboat along the delta and saw Alligators. The alligators are easy to spot at night, but do shy away quickly, luckily we did get to see one up close as he got a bit suck in the shallow water (don’t worry he didn’t get hurt, but just couldn’t get away). Sunday we went to the USS Alabama and took the battleship tour. The USS ALABAMA (the battleship) saw 37 months of active duty during World War II, earning nine Battle Stars. The USS ALABAMA, displaces more than 44,500 tons, and measures 680 feet from stem to stern, half as long as the Empire State Building is tall. So quiet impressive! (http://www.ussalabama.com)
This weekend I experienced my first (High School) American Football game, as I went with Brad and his family to watch their son’s football team play. It was a great experience, with the cheerleaders, the band and obviously the game itself. It did take really long to play though, because of all the stopping and starting the game I watched took almost 3 hours! But still very enjoyable.
Tuesday Arjan comes to visit; first on the agenda is New Orleans and New York, which is going to be great! Can’t wait!!
