Today we went to Playa Grande, the huge (hence the name) beach across the estuary from Playa Tamarindo.

The lack of shade made for a hot day! Apparently in February Playa Grande is the most important and renowned place in the world for leather-back turtles to lay their eggs. We hear that there are so many turtles on the beach during this "egg-laying season" that a human literally cannot step one foot onto the beach! The best part was exploring a huge tree trunk (or something) that the tide must have brought onto the beach. We like to think that it came from the other side of the world. Again, we were the only people on the beach!!When we saw a storm coming we headed back into town and had happy hour at Eat@Joe's. Later Tiffany and Trevor made some delicious tropical drinks in our blender and I made a tropical salad for dinner. The salad was a random combination that we never thought would be so tasty: tomato, cucumber, onion, avocado, mango, watermelon, pineapple, kiwi, salt and lime. Yum! We watched another movie on VHS.
