Today we drove along the Columbia River through the Blue Mountains to Bakers City, Oregon. We stopped at an Oregon Trail interpretive center, which was on top of a really tall hill. From there we could see part of the trail that the wagon’s cut through. The museum had some really cool exhibits and a movie.

Today we left Oregon and drove to Ontario, where we stopped and restocked our "covered wagon”. Then we headed to Idaho and stayed at the Rock Creek Canyon Campground and are going to see mom’s Aunt and Uncle, Floyd and Ida tomorrow.

We had fun meeting mom’s Aunt and Uncle. We talked to them at their house; then drove out to see Balanced Rock in a canyon. Dad and Grant had to watch out for rattlesnakes while hiking up to the rock. Then we had a yummy lunch at the Arctic Circle (this awesome fast food restaurant). Floyd and Ida sent us home with some corn which we had for supper that night. We are staying in an RV park in Ogden, Utah. This is the best campground ever, because they had a nice piano and I got to play it!!! It was warm today so we enjoyed swimming in the pool.

We went to Antelope Island, north of Salt Lake City and saw no antelope. However we did see bison, birds and brine shrimp. We walked on Oolitic sand on the beach, which is really round grains of calcium carbonated shrimp poop. It was really cool to float in The Great Salt Lake. You actually had to force your feet to touch the bottom! Grant caught a brine shrimp in his hand. Then we drove and drove and drove, into Wyoming. We saw sage brush, rock formations, and antelope. After supper tonight we went mini golfing at our campground in Rawlins, WY.
