Day 35 Thursday, Aug.27,2009 Left Coeur d'Alene, Idaho headed west on I90. We have pretty far to go today. We were only about 40 miles from Spokane, WA. when we were in Coeur d'Alene. As we moved westward we quickly got out of the mtn area and moved into flat country, and I do mean flat. It is flat as far as the eye can see and dry as a bone.. They grow lots of hay & wheat, but only where they can irrigate. Nothing grows here except sagebrush, unless irrigated. You will see a dwelling way out in the middle of farmland with some tall skinny trees (probably Lombardy Poplars) around it for a wind break.

Stopped at a rest area about noon for lunch.

At Ellensburg we took I82 to the south, passed thru Yakima and stopped about 15 miles south of Yakima at the small town of Toppenish. We are staying at an RV park that is located on an Indian Reservation called the Yakima Nation RV Park. This is a very nice park. It is quite large with flat, even, paved sites. It has a very nice jogging track around it's perimeter, one mile in length. It also has lots of recreation facilities, such as volley ball court, basketball court, exercise bars, playground, etc.

Many of the locals use the jogging track, as well as RV residents. The temp. is so pleasant you enjoy walking. There are 20 or so large teepees for people to camp in.

They are quite large.

As we got closer to Toppenish we saw lots & lots of apple trees.

Wish we were gonna be here longer than tomorrow so we could really have time to see the place.

Ronald & Kathy are supposed to leave tomorrow morning flying out here. Please pray for their safety.

God bless you & keep you all safe. Much love to all. MAP
