| August 24 – Monday Today was a rest day for the Topleys, Mulrooneys and Hilzs while Dave & Sharron got the repairs done on their motorhome. Norm & Marian went along with Dave & Sharron. We had a restful day getting caught up on laundry etc. and went to the store for groceries. Dave & Sharron returned with their motorhome in the afternoon – all repaired and ready to travel onward. August 25 – Tuesday A travel day today from Ottawa to Montreal, a distance of 247 kms. It was another beautiful sunny day driving through the farmland of Ontario with their crops of corn, soy beans and wheat stubble, and on into Quebec. Thanks to the GPS who directed us safely through what seemed to be narrow lanes on the freeway in Montreal and to our campground, Camping Alouette, just SE of the city. I think I could have shook hands with the truck drivers in the next lane at times. We are having a relaxing afternoon in the pool and resting up for an early morning tomorrow. We booked a bus tour of the city of Montreal and will be picked up at 7:15 in the morning. |
