316 DAY MILES & 3,669 TRIP MILES

We left Fairbanks around 9:00am in the rain (again), and rode all the way to Wasilla with only one gas stop. Unfortunately, Denali was completely clouded over due to the "normal" weather they were having, however we did get lucky at a couple locations along the way for some reasonable pictures. Maybe it will be better the next time I get up here. When we got to Wasilla it was off to the local Harley Davidson store where we meet some really nice people who worked there. They made us feel welcome and asked if there was anything they could do to help us with the trip. The owner of the store showing us how the ferry system schedule worked, and informed us that he had heard both good and more recently bad reports about large touring bikes taking the Cassiar Highway back through Canada. Next, we rode across town (2 miles) to the Best Western on Lake Lucile where Sarah's house is and booked a room for two nights so we could be tourists for a day. Discovered that the hotel was excellent with fantastic views of the lake and possibly the "X" governors house and sea plane dock at the other end of the lake.
