August update from DarwinAug 30, 2009

Today dawned with some clouds and some humidity. It was nice to lie in - if one could call 8am a lie in!
I have now finished work and also packing for my trip overseas. It's just as well that Echo is staying home to keep an eye on things, and to pass on all my news.
The past couple of weeks have been uneventful - with me either working, or involved with surf life saving activities, and Echo either playing or watching bowls and generally relaxing.
News from the home front has been good - with the kids being well and enjoying some much needed rain. We've almost forgotten what real rain looks like!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our little home away from home, occupying a friend's driveway and generally doing a few odd jobs around the place.
Tonight we're off to the casino to absorb a bit of culture - an evening of jazz under the stars - should be fun.
Tomorrow will see me zipping up the suitcase and getting on yet another plane to begin my big adventure - I think the saying "adventure before dementia" just about covers it!
I don't know when the next update will happen - be patient and keep well
