Summer 2009 WV to GA to UT and WV travel blog

Repeat every mile driven and you have seen Montana.

Even being at rest stop is an adventure in Montana

The Cody, Wyoming KOA had a pancake breakfast in an outside pavilion. All the pancakes you can eat for $2.00 and that is how my Sunday started. I bumped around the campground, went downtown Cody on a penny pinching mission for Cindy and finally left for North Dakota about 11:30 AM. Needless to say from the destination on the map I did not make it into the Dakotas. Finally got out of Wyoming by driving into Montana to Glendive, MT a distance of 352 miles. When I download pictures of this day, there is only 1 photo needed because it just repeats itself every mile you drive. I now know why Montana is nick named "sky country". The other photo is posted at the rest stops along I-90.

I now also know that Montana cowboys wear their cowboy hats, blue jean jackets, cowboy shirts and blue jeans during Sunday evening dinner. At least that was the consensus of the 10 or so cowboys in the local diner I had supper at this evening. All had sunburned faces and talking about wild horses and rounding up their cattle in the coming months. Most had their ladies with them, but the ladies were not dressed as you would expect a cowgirl to dress. No cars in the parking lot, all pickup trucks, etc. Also, most all of the restaurants in Montana have gambling machines in their establishments. (Keno, poker, etc.) Hope to make Fargo, ND Monday for the next day's travel a distance of about 400 miles.
