| Monday, August 10, 2009 We know that Squiggles the “guard” dog down the hill is alive and well since she showed up at our house last Friday morning at 6:40am with her tail a-waggin like crazy. I think she’s on probation for straying instead of guarding her home. Oh, that lovely propane 5K generator I mentioned last week….it went back to Santigo today. It was so loud that Dave while lying in a hammock 20 feet away from the generator, with his cell phone right next to him and he could not hear my phone calls. A bit noisy to say the least. So we have been using the Honda 1K but that’s just a short term solution. Dave says he’s looking for a 2K Honda generator because it’s quiet and can handle the battery load to charge up the batteries. Dave and I hooked up the propane line for the stove today. Don’t be fooled by that simple sentence. This was NOT an easy task. We tugged and pushed and pulled and broke string and jammed string in the line and cussed and sweated but we got the propane tube through the PVC line. In honor of the new propane line, which means I can cook dinner at the house on a real Dominican stove instead of a cook stove, I made spaghetti! It was a simple meal made simpler by having a real stove to cook the pasta and sauce. |
