| This time the ride started with gravel and sand. We followed the sea wall about 14kms (with a runner on our tail who Di was sure was going to mug us!!)through the centre of the Camargue. Again lots of bird life and we even saw some unfenced bulls and horses today! The huge flocks of Flamingoes were beautiful and we saw their fledglings too-a light brown colour. Very unafraid of humans but instinctively feed away from you if you get too close. We again followed the directions successfully and arrived in Sambuc and the hotel Long Mai at about 1pm. This is described as a tiny hamlet which sums it up pretty well. Later on in the day we walked out along the river and after a lovely meal and read we retired fairly early in preparation for our big day tomorrow. |
