6am! M: Just leaving Dover, had a few hours kip in the marina in Dover prior to boarding. Very foggy this morning to cross the busiest shipping lane in the world but thankfully the sea is like a mirror! Myrtle ran a dream on the way down, sits nicely around 65 - 70mph until you get to a hill, then its drop off time, lack of a turbo! Even the Royal Mail trucks were overtaking us. Bit of a long haul to Dover as we didn't leave until late in the evening. 2.30am we arrived and found the marina full of motor homes. Quickly parked up and within minutes were in bed fast asleep! Bloomin seagulls woke us up just after 5am. Time to go. I'm also pleased to report the JB Weld is still doing its job on the manifold hole! Result. I'm also thinking not to load so much fresh water on board, maybe lighten the load a bit, oh well its all a bit trial and error, we will know more over the coming days what our consumptions are likely to be. I've now fingers crossed diesel is a bit better value on the continent as I have avoided the last few stations here in Dover with the diesel on a 1/4 tank. Should be interesting first hour acclimatising to driving on the right with no power steering! Right I've rambled enough! A: Mmmmm...apricot danish!!! Need to develop my technique when getting out of the cabin bed as I may already have incurred bruises although it could have been that I was still half asleep! Can't wait to get to France and start our big adventure. Just smelt/spotted a Full English so off to investigate x
