This morning we both woke up at 4:00 am. Matthew sleeps very soundly, but we are experiencing a bit of jet lag. Anyway, when Matthew woke up, we went to breakfast. We met Amy and all ate breakfast. Afterwards, Amy took us to a huge park. We saw people doing Tai Chi and women dancing traditional dances with silk umbrellas. It reminded us of Chinese New year celebrations. We tok pictures at the park - it is dedicated to Mao - he was from this area, so it's their claim to fame. Then, it started to pour - Amy told us this rain is from the typhoon that hit the area. Matthew was very excited to see a dog at the park but was terrified of a bunny! The rain was not letting up, so Amy took us to an embroidary institute. Changsha is the silk embroidery capitol of the world! We watched how they did it and then Amy took us into the store. She told us not to buy anything - very expensive. She will have a friend come to our hotel room tomorrow so we can purchase some nice wall hangings. Matthew had to go potty and Amy said it was fine to take him to the sidewalk - we both laughed and said we would find a bathroom. She scooped him up and he went on the sidewalk! I refused to take a picture, though!!! After that, it was getting time for lunch and nap time. We went back to the hotel and Dave had to go to the front desk to clear up a situation. Matthew did not like that Dave left us! He was crying and screaming and pointing to the door. Amy took him to the elevator to wait for Daddy. I was beginning to feel very dejected - Matthew hasn't let me hold him or feed him - only Dave. After Dave came back up, Matthew went running to him. Then Amy wanted to leave so Matthew could take a nap. Matthew cried for her, too! Well, Matthew didn't stop crying for a long time. Even Dave couldn't console him! Eventually, I picked him up and rocked him and sang to him. He cried and struggled for a good 10 minutes, then settled into my arms. He fell asleep that way. When I tried to put him in his crib, he cried and cried. He only wanted me!!!! Dave had fallen asleep, so I kept trying to have Matthew take a nap, but every time I laid him down, he wanted to get carried by me!!!! I walked him around teh hotel floor, we played with crayons, he told me he had to go potty. We've been buddies since this afternoon!! Maybe he is finally getting used to me! Tomorrow we will have Amy's friend in our room, then pack. We leave for Guanzhou on Friday, where we will meet up with the others who have travelled in our group.
