| Rome - A.M. Vatican Tour in the a.m. Santana in the p.m. What a great day!! Vatican Museum - amazing sculptures, tapestry from 1600's, maps, fresco works!! Sistine Chapel - what can I say other than 'res ipsa loquitur': latin for 'the thing speaks for itself'. The Last Judgment still gives me nightmares! St. Peter's Basilica - the pinnacle of excess by the Catholic Church! However, Michaelangelo's Pieta makes one weep. St. Peter's Square (Piazza San Pietro) - Pope makes his appearance on Wednesday's, but hmmm, the Pope or Santana - gotta go! Brescia - P.M. Dashed to the airport just barely made our flight to Verona. Shuttle bus to train station and 30 minute train ride to Brescia! Santana performing @ Piazza della Loggia - Brescia Italy 9:30 p.m. Happy Birthday/Anniversary Mario! My Theme Song - You've got to change your evil ways!! Maybe I should have stayed at the Vatican for the Pope's blessing..... Nope - too much fun! Very surreal - what a dream day! |
