We were glad to visit Buenos Aires again. We were heading in the direction of Santiago, Chile (our flight out) and had to take care of some business. So why not do it in a city you love? Buenos Aires has many great neighborhoods to explore. This time we stayed in a new area, a bit out of downtown and known for its restaurants and shopping. After this we were heading to the frontiers of Argentina for some rest then leaving South America for good (or for now). We had a great time while still taking care of things. Although having a good time caused us to not take care as much as we should have......taking care of things caused us to not have as good of time as we could have. After 2 days of searching for an Air New Zealand office and waiting 7 hours for the travel agent to arrange the ticket, we finally managed to purchase our South Pacific Air Pass. For meals we took the opportunity to try out as many fabulous restaurants as possible. Vancouver restaurants are going to have a tough time matching the atmosphere, food, and value of Buenos Aires.
A wonderful aspect of travelling is running into friends you have met previously. Sometimes this happens at obvious tourist attractions, while other rare times it happens in the most obscure places. Tamara, who has craved perogies all over South America, found a small Polish restaurant in the basement of a dark street. Strangely it was here we ran into some friends we first met in Ecuador. Buenos Aires never fails to surprise and delight us! We were sad to leave a second time and can't wait to return for a third time.
