We didn't quite get the early start we wanted to for todays walking, but it hasn't been too hot. We caught the train to the fourth village, Vernazza, a very pretty place, and did the 1.5 hr walk back to Corniglia. This was a lot steeper than yesterdays efforts, even though we both were feeling bum muscles we didn't know we had even yesterday. The trains are a bit infrequent, so we again stopped for a swim (a very rocky beach which allowed for graceful entries!) and did the cliff walks back to Riomaggiore. The scenery overlooking the cliffs, villages, and idyllic water is more than beautiful. All this up hill walking must help get us ready for our big bike ride!
Di had herself a siesta this afternoon whilst Ali went exploring south of Riomaggiore for yet another gorgeous swim and sunbake!
One more walk to do this evening (supposed to be the hardest) though Ali is one man down for the expedition?!
Very tough steps to begin the walk and I nearly turned back! Once through these, I enjoyed a gorgeous walk through the hills and wonderful views coming down into Vernazza.
Here mum was waiting for me and we enjoyed yet another lovely dinner and sunset in Cinque Terre!
