It was a short AND fast move of only 64 miles from TTN Thunderbird to TTN Mt. Vernon. There is a series of 4 TTN preserves here in the extreme NW of WA, all are within about 40 mile area. We found this preserve, TTN Mt. Vernon, to be a very beautiful, well managed preserve. It’s a large preserve with many walking trails, good pools, nice minigolf and the store is always open. The park has with 220 spaces, the only downfall is the “very weak” 30 amp service also that all 220 spaces are electric & water only. Our ampmeter puts us at about 118 volts before turning anything on, then power dips pretty fast. So we won’t be using any sensitive electronics along with big powered items. One of the nice benefits to this park is it’s location to The Skagit casino, it right next door, in fact, you have to drive around its parking lot to get to the gate of the park. We ate at the buffet the second night we’re here, it’s good. We generally take advantage of the casino’s food offerings when they’re close. We don’t mind signing up for a guest card to get the discounts. We're hoping to fish for steelhead and salmon on the Skagit River, a worldclass salmon river only 3 miles from our preserve.

This stay will be a mix of alittle sightseeing and fishing with some days to stay at “home” and do some rod building, crafts, reading, etc.
