| Perugia is a huge Umbrian city, but we weren't too interested in hanging around, so after checking out the main plazas and a few very old churches, along with more amazing views, we decided to move on to Assisi.This time we are staying outside the old town at the Hotel Moderno.We are now heartily sick of bread,pasta & pizza so opted for salads at MacDonald's! This afternoon we caught a bus up into Assisi - all these old towns are perched up in the cliffs and offer incredible views of the countryside below.After wandering around for a while, we visited the remarkable St Frances Basillicas. It was interesting to find out more about this remarkable saint and the basillicas are a great tribute to him. So now here we are, back at the Internet Centre, madly catching up on a few days. Hopefully Ali can shortly download some photos for this. We need to do some washing badly but nothing is opened on a Sunday. We Will finish the day off with a quiet night and hopefully Di can actually get some sleep tonight!! |
