On the Road with Val and Joan travel blog

We were very lucky to be able to get all packed and things put away before the sky opened up again. I thought it best to sit tight until the weather improved. We sat there for a couple of hours and the rain finally subsided.

We are headed north of Rapid City to the Covered Wagon Resort in Piedmont. We made it a whole twelve miles before the sky opened up. Rain, thunder and lightning made it impossible to go forward. Most of the freeway was pulled over on the side of the road.

We didn't have to wait long and we were on our way. It only took us 90 minutes to go 23 miles.

Covered Wagon Resort is a Passport America park that is not the greatest but it has charm. You can tell that a whole lot of love has been put into this park and I do recommend it for a short stay.
