First kept Pink Salmon

In action

Small King

She is trying

Vicki decided to sleep in this morning so I spent a few hours fishing and caught a few nice Salmon of which I kept one 18” Pink Salmon. Pinks are not considered one of the better eating Salmon but if cleaned soon after catching and eaten within a day they are good. So I cleaned it as soon as I got back to camp (Vicki was still sleeping) and put it in the refrig to be fixed for dinner.

I took Vicki fishing after she got herself out of bed and had her coffee. We caught a few salmon and a Rainbow before calling it quits. We had caught Kings and Rainbows which all had to be released. We cooked up the Pink Salmon I caught earlier in the day with a couple of side dishes for an early dinner before heading out for our next excursion.

We had made arrangements to take a McKinley Flight out of Talkeetna to circle Mt McKinley but when we got to the airport they gave us a briefing of the weather conditions which were not very good as clouds had moved in over the mountain, lowering our chances to see the mountain. They gave us the option to cancel which we took them up on since seeing the mountain was the main purpose of the flight.

We walked around Telkeetna a bit and returned back to camp a little disappointed that the excursion did not work out as planned.

Played a quick game of cribbage before calling it a night.
