Late last night or early this morning, the humidity finally caught up with us. The air was HEAVY! The humidity really does a number on my bones and joints and I wasn't sure I would really be able to get out of bed. But, the call of the beach is strong and the worst humid day on the beach is better than . . . well, you know the drill.

We caught the trolley once again down to Wells Beach. What a difference it was from the other day. Had we been in California, it would have been a cold miserable foggy day at the beach, but here in Maine, what looks like fog we think is caused by the humidity. The temp was warm, probably around 78. The "fog" was so thick that we could barely see the retaining wall to find our way back to the trolley stop.

On the beach, we met Cliff from Massachusetts. He was expertly playing on a homemade boogie board. He said he has been coming to this beach since he was a boy and he is now 57 and comes with his two sons. He said that Wells Beach really hasn't changed that much over the years. In the 1960's, the powers that be set a limit on the size of the houses built along the coast, which have kept the small town atmosphere.

We walked today for over an hour, so the knees are still ok. We got back to the rig and had lunch and settled in with our books for the afternoon. The sun tried to peek out but has gone back behind the "fog" once again.

The other day, when we were at the pet store, we picked up a product that said it would keep your pet from scratching furniture or whatever you didn't want them to scratch. It is a strip of double-sided sticky tape that is invisible. Cats do not like to get their paws caught on the tape. So, I put it all along the bottom of the couch and on the arms and lo and behold, I think it works. Rocky tried to scratch once and looked at his paw with a puzzled look on his face. He hasn't tried to scratch the couch since. Mimi also doesn't do it, although she had been declawed before we got her so she doesn't do any damage. If, indeed, this keeps Rocky from destroying our furniture, it would be awesome. The downside, is that everything sticks to the tape, like the garbage bag or my shirt when I go to get up from the couch. But it is so worth it. What a great product and what a clever solution. We are going to go back and buy another package to keep on hand.

This afternoon, the park is already starting to fill up more with lots of rigs checking in, some even before the 1:00 pm deadline. I am sure it will be full for the weekend.
