When we arrived in Nova Scotia, we went to Louisbourg, a lovely village on Cape Breton Island. We weren't there a day when I got a call from my sister that her husband, David, was terribly ill and in the intensive care unit in a hospital Asheville, North Carolina. It took me two days to get there, driving and flying, and thankfully, David had done a complete turnaround by the time I got there and was out of the ICU.
In the meantime, Butch and the motorhome were in Halifax, N.S., the town with the airport. The Tall Ships were visiting Halifax's harbor, so there were special programs including costumed re-enactors. Butch made good use of the time I was gone eating plenty of seafood and visiting the harbor to enjoy the festivities.
