We had a big family breakfast this morning. Katherine’s husband, Rusty, joined us as well. We pulled out of Rocky Mount at 9:30 AM headed for Jersey City, New Jersey. As we passed by Washington D.C. the kids were excited to see many of the monuments they remembered from last summer! We pulled into the “luxurious” Liberty Harbor RV Park at 7:30 PM. It was supposed to be an 8 hour traveling day, but because of all the congestion around the cities we passed through, it wound up taking us 10 hours. Stop and go traffic on top of that! Russell was glad to finally pull into the campground, even though it’s not much to brag about (basically a huge asphalt & gravel parking lot). The only thing going for it is the location. It is right on a little harbor with boat docks and the views of NYC and the Statue of Liberty were spectacular! We took a walk along the boat docks in the evening.
