Greetings friends and family,
July 10th: Yesterday Mary and I found a couple of Geocache sites. One was near a very interesting old 1937 Chevy Flatbed truck way off the beaten path. We don’t know how it got here, but we had a good time discovering it. For those of you who don’t know what Geocaching is check out the official website http://www.geocaching.com . It is similar to a treasure hunt with a GPS rather than a compass in almost every country in the world and right in your neighborhood too. We have found many points of interest off the beaten path in our travels by searching Geocache sites. The other site we found was at Gull Lake a couple of miles from where we are camping. I just happened to have my fishing gear with me and climbed around the big boulder at the south end of the lake, but the trout weren’t biting. Another day another lake!
Only 2 photos today both of vehicles from a bygone era. The first photo is the rusted hulk was the 1937 Chevy truck we found while Geocaching. See if you know what the second picture used to be in the 1950’s. Email me back if you know. Those living in Southern California at that time should have a pretty good idea.
