We are up and off by 8am to go to Santiago to pick up lights for the house and groceries.
We have Jaime a local taxi driver with a van pick us up and we end up very thankful for the extra room after we load up the van with inside and outside lights for the house, enough food to feed us for 4 months and a new toilet (it was on sale and we couldn’t pass it up!) As usual it rains while we are in Santiago but we manage to get all our shopping done and still make it back to Luperon before 4pm. I head back to the boat to continue the slow painful, hot and sweaty cleaning process. After about 4 hours I have all the food put away and have cleaned the cockpit top to bottom and mananged to clean a small part of the deck. (The deck has a nice light green tint to it, apparently we had lots of rain while we were gone, but it’s nothing that some soap and water and elbow grease can’t erase). I will deal with down below tomorrow, for now it’s time for a cold beverage and some rest.
