Safronbulo to IstanbulJul 8, 2009

| Some of us started fall had a feeling better today, thank god! We all had a great sleep and on road again in morning by 8.30. we actually joined a Fez Travel Hop on hop off bus with tour guide.. quite hilarious. We went into the historic town of Safronbolu, famous for saffron and its Ottomon houses dating back to 14th 16th century, wandered through the cobbled streets and street markets etc. Then drove on another 2 hours to get to the Black Sea at Amasra on the north coast. Quaint town, and the kids had a swim there. Then another 8 hours on the small bus to Istanbul. Kids were pleased for the other backpackers company on the bus, and even put a couple of DVDs on for us all to watch. we got in to our Hotel Acra about 9.30, was perfect just walking distance from where the bus dropped us thank goodness, as our bags are starting to get heavey.... nearly the end of our trip so we can afford to put more weight in our bags. We felt like McDonalds for a bite to eat (tragically) as our tummies still a little delicate. Home to our gorgeous almost 5 star hotel, what a treat our last nights here till we go to singapore...... night, only 7 more sleeps till we are home in godzone! |
