Hyatt Summer Vacation 2009 travel blog

Sammy: Today, Grandmommie, Ryan, and I went to the Indian Village. Granddaddy didn't go because he wasn't feeling that great. At the Indian Village, a bunch of Cherokee Indians have set up different little huts where they make something that the Cherokee actually made a long time ago. It is very interesting. Before you go around to these huts, there is a reenactment you can watch. The first part is a Cherokee man talking about the ceremonies the Cherokee used to put on. The second part was a war reenactment. It was very real-looking. My favorite part of the Indian Village was the pottery hut. I learned so many useful things there. I can't wait until I go back!!! After that, we went to the Huddle House by Grandmommie and Granddaddy's house. I got a really good burger and some texas toast. Yum!!! I also got a small strawberry shortcake for dessert. That was really good. When we got back to their house, all four of us played Crazy Eights. It was a blast!!! Unfortunately, we had to just quit our game because it wasn't ending, but we were all ready to go to bed anyway. I'd say it was a pretty successful day!!!

Ryan: This morning, Granddaddy wasn't feeling so good so, Grandmommie took us to walk through the Cherokee Indian Village. We got to see how the Indians made their bowls, utencils, and hunting weapons, such as, spears and blow darts. We also got to see some of the Indian houses that they used to live in. I learned that every Cherokee family had a 'sweat house.' This was where you went if you were sick. They also did a reenactment of a war. For dinner, we went to a Huddle House near Grandmommie and Granddaddy's house. I got chicken, fries, and green beans. When we got back to the house, we played a card game called, Crazy Eights. The game took so long that we all just decided to quit the game and go to bed. Over all, the day was a pretty exciting day and I can't wait until tomorrow!!!!
