Gem Mining and Nick and Nate'sJul 3, 2009

| Sammy: Today we started out our day by having some toast with another one of Granddaddy's jelly concoctions. We also had some turkey bacon. Afterwards, we went to Mason Mountain Mining to do a little gem mining. This activity is always one of my favorites. Ryan and I found sooo many gems, little and big. Grandmommie also mined with us. Granddaddy took pictures while we mined. We went through two huge buckets of dirt and gems!!! When we were satisfied with our loot, we headed over to Nick and Nate's Pizza. Every time we go to North Carolina we stop by Nick and Nate's because they have the best pizza you will ever eat!!! Ryan, Grandmommie, and I shared a large cheese pizza with extra cheese!!! YUM!!! After that, we headed home. We didn't even have dinner because we were so full from the pizza!!! As soon as I got back to Grandmommie and Granddaddy's house I grabbed my book and headed straight for the hammock on their porch. It's sooo relaxing out there because you can listen to the birds chirping while you're swaying in the hammock. After I finished one book, I went downstairs and grabbed another. I'm a reading fanatic!!! We picked up where we had lefMonopolyour Mobopoly tournament. We decided to cut our game short and have everyone add up their money to get a winner. Like I had hoped, I won with 3,278 dollars!!! WOO-HOO!!! I was so happy!!! We started another game immediatly after that and didn't stop until 10:15 PM. It was a long, but fun day!!! Ryan: This morning we got up out of our beds and dragged ourselves upstairs and started our day with some toast and more of Granddaddy's jelly. When we were all finished with our breakfast, we went up to Mason Mountain and did a little bit of mining. We found lots and lots of gems. After gem mining, Granddaddy took all of us to Nick and Nate's (delicious) Pizza!!!! Nick and Nate's has the best pizza in the world. I shared a large cheese pizza with Sammy. It was just enough for both of us. After Nick and Nate's, we went back to the house stuffed and played a LOT more Monopoly. Unfortunately, we decided to end our game and start another one. We added up our money from the last game and discovered that Sammy was the winner. I was devastated, although I did come in second. |
