| Arrived in Lincoln City, OR this afternoon and am staying at Devils Lake RV Park. The park is nice and clean, but the spaces are a little too close together for my taste, BUT it is the 4th of July weekend and everything is filled up. Glad we made these reservations about 4 months ago! The drive on US-101 north to Lincoln City from Coos Bay, OR was all single lane in each direction. Some of the driving was easy, but there's a segment between Haceta and Newport that was quite windy with a lot of grades. The road follows along the coast and the views are spectacular (According to my wife! I was watching the road!). After Newport, the road gets easier to drive. This town is PACKED! We went out Friday night with hopes of finding a nice seafood restaurant, but the wait was over an hour so we went to Safeway and bought some Alaskan King crab legs and came back home to cook and eat them. Yum yum. |
