Here are some pictures from the yunnan province. This place is sick it is home the upper stretches of the yangzi river (the third longest river in the world) and the mekong. And the highest mountain in the province Meili snow mountain at 21,220 ft has never been climbed. I went to some glaciers outside lijiang and it was hilarious the chinese treated it like everest, they rented these big jackets and all bought bottled oxygen, they are pretty goofy.

Right now I'm in Shangri-la and it is the start of the tibetian culture in western china, I've been drinking yak butter tea and yogurht all week. There are these hour long dance parties every night here in the square and the old tibetian woman have it choreographed for every song and thae whole town joins in, taxi drivers, little kids, local hoodlums, it is pretty funny. I was hanging out with some locals last night and got to party in the equivilant of a chinese millionairs house. Half of it looked like a temple with ornate wood work everywhere, they were singing and playing the flute and telling chinese ghost stories its hilarious. They sell this root here, worm root, and it is some kind of natural viagra and helps cure cancer, but you cannot find it anywhere else and the locals deal it like drugs on in the center of town for very high prices, but the locals swear by it and travel from far away to buy it here.
