Lake From Dam

Friday we went to Laurel Hill State Park for a hike. The park is multi functional use with hiking, camping, boating, swimming, snowmobiling, hunting and more. It was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1935. Many of the original buildings are still in use today and the visitor center has a display of the CCC work in Pennsylvania. We hiked the 1.7 mile Tram Road Trail to the Jones Mill Run Dam which was built By the CCC.

Today we visited the Somerset Historical Center a collection of 18th & 19th century farmsteads and the history of agricultural in southwestern Pennsylvania. I included the link to the center since I forgot my camera.

We are going to lie low here until after the 4th of July holiday and then head east to Gettysburg. Stay Tuned
