Temp 98 - 310 miles driven
Not sure how many of you are aware, but we have delayed the start of this trip for almost a month. My (Barb’s) mom has been waiting to move into a long term care facility in Bel Air, just outside of Baltimore. Since I have her power of attorney, we wanted to include stopping in Bel Air as we headed north to help settle her into the new place. I got the call on Monday that a bed was available. Unfortunately on Tuesday morning, the assisted living center where she currently lives sent her to the hospital with a suspected stroke.
I contacted the administrator at the LTC facility and she’s been great. She worked with the staff at the hospital and on Friday, my mom was moved by ambulance to the new place in Bel Air. Now she only a 5 minute drive from my sister’s house and place of work.
The last month in Jax has been really awful. The last Saturday before Father’s Day there was a heat advisory – it was 103!! I can’t get to “COOL” soon enough!
