Young Scottish lady playing the bagpipes at welcome center
Lighthouse at Nova Scotia welcome center
We left PEI early this morning, crossing the Confederation Bridge in a fairly dense fog. You do not pay a toll when entering PEI, but you pay it when you leave. $56.50 for motorhome towing a car, $42.50 for just a car. We drove through a portion of New Brunswick and crossed over in to Nova Scotia around noon. We stopped at the Nova Scotia welcome center and got quite a bit of information. Visitors are greeted by a young Scottish girl playing the bagpipes. There was also a quaint little lighthouse at the visitors center. We got our first exposure to Nova Scotia fuel as we filled the motorhome. $.985 per liter for diesel. That equates to nearly $3.50 per gallon. We drove 180 miles into Nova Scotia and are staying at Annapolis Royal on the Bay of Fundy at Dunroving campground. This is a very historical area and we will be exploring it starting tomorrow.
