Germany...mmm beer! Jun 20, 2009

Hi all from the beer capital- Germany! We spent 4 nights in Germany and had lots of fun. We visited the city centre (Munich) and did some shopping- very fun but expensive! We walked lots and explored the BMW museum and Olympium tower among other things. The BMW museum was very impressive- the old cars were great. We spent quite a few hours there. One of our biggest highlights was catching up with Max. We had a great time eating traditional German food and drinking local beers- Tasty! We went to the very famous Hofbrauhaus (beer house) where we drank 1L steins of beer! We also caught up with Max for lunch the next day and a spot of shopping (for something different!). It was very sad to say goodbye but we plan on going back to Germany some day. Our Alpine Adventure and Glacier Express tour started on the 19th June. We travelled through the beautiful forested area of southern Germany which was brilliant green- very different to home. Our first stop was Linderhof Castle which was very impressive on the outside and totally over the top inside- not our cup of tea but still well worth the visit for the beautiful gardens and view.
