| Boy did we ever find the hot weather, coming from 2 weeks of cool to down right freezing weather to the hot box of the south. Freeway driving and crosswinds of Oklahoma made for rough riding along with the hot tempertures. We ate lunch in Chocoetah, OK (hometown of Carrie Underwood) and then headed to AR. We stopped for gas at Ozark,AR and it seemed like the temperture was hot but not unbearable, but when we started back on the freeway I began to feel sick and really hot. By the time we got to Russellville, I nearly passed out. So we stopped at the Flying J Truck Stop for awhile so I could cool down and I put on a long-sleeve shirt and wet in down (still had all my clothes on) and we headed on to Conway. Made it ok, but the house had been closed up with the air-conditioner off and the upstairs thermostat read 99 degrees. Got the bike unpacked and a pile of laundry to do. But it was a great trip, we always enjoy riding with Melvin & Donnetta and hope that ya'll enjoyed hearing about our trip a day at a time. |
